About

Hey there, my name is Leopoldo but everybody calls me Polo. I'm a Product designer with more than 9 years of experience and a Computer science bachelors degree, I like to consider myself as a product crafter since I don't shy of business perspective and constant collaboration with the product and engineering chapters.

I'm passionate about mentoring, building and creating products that positively impact peoples lifes.

2021 — Now
Staff Product Designer at Nubank
Mexico City

At Nubank I lead the team that launched the savings account in Mexico, which included responsibilities of design, product strategy, stakeholder management to achieve our launch goal.

I was also in charge of launching multi geo features that accelerated the expansion of Nubank in Mexico and Colombia. Currently I work in scaling the product of savings for Mexico, Brazil and Colombia.

Currently influencing and shaping the future and growth of Cuenta in Mexico and Colombia influencing the roadmap and bringing features to life.

2019 — 2021
Lead Product Designer at Sofia
Mexico City

I joined Sofia in early stages and helped design the whole insurance product, designing the app, internal tools and even some customer experience processes that carried away the proposition value of Sofia.

At Sofia I was part of the core group that defined the roadmaps, features to launch and our strategy to win from the product side.

2017 — 2019
Product Designer at Mienvio
Queretaro

At mienvio, I planned and executed design work across the main product and internal tools. I was initially brought on to help them rebuild the product based on user-centered design.
In addition, I teamed up with another designer and together we rebranded, rebuilt and redesigned the entire product and landing page while implementing atomic design principles and incorporating design thinking into their processes.

2016 — 2017
UX & UI Designer & Frontend developer at GRVTY Labs
Queretaro

While working at GRVTY Labs, I was in charge of the UX & UI design (and sometimes front-end development) across a diverse set of projects, which ranged from client work to in-house products. Here during client design sprints, I would function as a facilitator and as a product owner for internal projects. Some of the projects I enjoyed the most working on were a CSS library to support atomic design principles, a repository in Github to gather learning resources, a components library in sketch, the rebrand of the agency, and redesign their landing page.

UI & UX Designer at Sellpad
Queretaro

Sellpad is a platform that helps restaurant and coffee shop owners increase sales and prevent loses by improving service and administration. During my time there as a UI & UX designer, I worked with the lead designer on the company's web app, iOS app and landing page in order to improve the user experience and, as a result, reduce client support costs.
