I lead a team of 6 backend engineers, prioritize their work, help them with issues, and make sure they're growing in the company. I review their work, give directions when needed.
I'm also still coding ! I work on high impact tasks on an API handling millions of requests per day.
I created an API for an internal analytics application. Its aim was to allow key shareholders to follow stats and KPI to allow better decision making.
I developed and improved the main Qwant API, which was serving millions of requests per day. Improved response times using caching strategies, went through critical paths using profiling. I also worked on adding new features to improve user experience, new modules, and monetization.
During that time, I was also helping coworkers improve on the codebase, and doing code reviews.
I then led the migration of this API from PHP to NodeJS, with a team of 3 developers. I prioritized features, did acceptance testing, code reviews, and ensured the quality of the migration.
