Projects

2019

I had the excellent fortune of working with Amandine, Kelly Boys, Rick Hanson, and Catherine Cook-Cottone to produce a curriculum that teaches mindfulness and the cultivation of inner resources during challenging UN Peacekeeper deployments. I am a long-time meditator and working with this esteemed group of teachers was educational and inspiring.

Speaking

2023
Boulder, CO

I co-taught a seminar series to investors and traders with renowned trader, Chris Cady. We discussed:

  • How to manage powerful emotions like fear, FOMO, and anxiety
  • Methods of neurological and biological regulation that can make challenging emotions easier to manage
  • Practical ways to increase your stress resilience
  • Established processes for generating self-awareness and engaging in self-inquiry
  • How to uncover and uproot emotional thought processes that are sabotaging the realization of intentions
2022
Boulder, CO

We will be exploring interventions that bring the body into a relationship with ease and relief.

We will also discuss ways to generate friendliness towards the daily abrasions that can later coalesce and calcify into chronic stress.

We will be working with generating kindness, breathwork, visualization, and leveraging our innate capacity to rewire the nervous system.

2021
Boulder, CO

I led a panel discussion about embodiment, immediacy, and kindness—joined by Brooklyn Beta founder Chris Schifflet, investor Julie Fredrickson, and TEDxBoulder founder Andrew Hyde.

The beguiling effect of creative blocks, clients and looming deadlines can often obscure our natural facility to create. Let us explore mindfulness methods that facilitate focus, creativity and conscious choice when we are experiencing duress or lethargy.

If something feels like it is missing, maybe what is really missing is full participation in your experience.

Maybe the fantasies of peace and cessation that marketers push *are what fuel our feeling of deficit.*

Meditation will not ‘make you good’.

You are already good. You are already whole. Enlightenment and meditation are not manufactured achievements.

It is something we can notice right here, right now. Use your anxiousness, your fear, and your self-critique as a prompt to remember the freshness of experience.

Catch yourself in the act of using a *meditation formula* and instead simply *return to attention on your present knowing*.

Features

2023

I had the good fortune to participate in an interview for LinkedIn POVember series.
Lauren Camera-Murray and I discuss tech & meditation, working with vulnerable feelings in the workplace, and the value LinkedIn places on accessibility and trust.

Work Experience

2019 — Now
Boulder, CO

I teach design and technology at the University of Colorado Boulder, College of Engineering and Applied Science. My focus is communicating best practices in the domains of Art Direction and Product Design.

2022 — Now
Remote

I am working with the LinkedIn accessibility and inclusive design team to identify and support initiatives that transform the way the Product Design team delivers value to partners and stakeholders.

I partner with Product Designers and Design Operations Managers to discover insights and drive processes that will improve file handoff and design collaboration with the engineering teams.

I collaborate and lead ideation workshops and qualitative research with internal teams. To validate and distribute findings I create user journey & system maps, service architecture diagrams, user flow diagrams, and prototypes for my colleagues.

2019 — 2020
Lead Product Designer at Gloo
Boulder, CO

I initiated Gloo's design team’s effort to define and implement a new brand and design system across the suite of products. I was responsible for mentoring a team of UX and marketing designers through the brand transition and helped establish workflows that anchor into a global design system. I constructed a tool stack that took advantage of Sketch, Abstract, and Material's robust documentation. The tooling was seamlessly integrated into a React front-end environment. Our daily praxis was inception, research, wireframes, prototypes, UI polish, and integration with engineering.

2015 — 2018
Boulder, CO

I helped Pivotal Labs build its product design practice in the Rocky Mountain region. I educated and worked with agile teams on the synthesis of art direction and product design. I was expected to be conversant with all modern design and prototyping tools, possess a keen understanding of UX / UI principles, and manage the design process from inception to launch.
