foodpanda is the largest online food and grocery delivery platform in Asia outside of China and operates in 12 countries. foodpanda is owned by Berlin-based Delivery Hero.
As Operations Director of foodpanda HK I managed seven high-performing teams comprised of 50 people. We owned a wide array of topics: Logistics, Performance & Fraud, Support Operations, Experience, Data & Insights, CSR & Sustainability and pandago.
I built and nurtured these teams from scratch and together we improved service levels tremendously, launched a pioneer reusable packaging pilot, launched a profitable LaaS service (pandago) and set up a financially sustainable food delivery ecosystem that benefits customers, vendors and riders.
In the course of my tenure as Operations Director I was accountable for the stability of operations through political unrest and Covid-19. Moreover, I was the face of foodpanda HK throughout a mediatic rider strike and a few other incidents which were all successfully resolved through dialogue, mutual understanding and commitment to continuously improve the experience of our fleet.
The accomplishments of my teams enabled foodpanda HK to go from number #2 in 2017 to a distant number #1 in the Hong Kong market in 2023, reaching 73% of market share, becoming EBITDA-positive and having the largest (15K couriers) and best-rewarded delivery fleet of Hong Kong.
