About

Design - an omnipresent ancient power, a modern mission-critical, an all-too-common double sword. It takes ethics, empathy, criticality, and ever expanding curiosity, but ultimately grants us one of the most fulfilling paths to being in and engaging with the world we live in.

To that end, design is my inquiry, my practice, and my believe.

The notion of style has a specific, historical meaning. The visibility of style is itself a product of historical consciousness.

To define our style is to define our own design language and design philosophy. To investigate our styles critically is to invest in fostering and crystalizing our personal philosophy and using it to guide our practices and our creative pursuits.

It is by no means an easy task, but it grants us the most rewarding and fulfilling path to engage with the world. Ultimately, is it through our own relation to everything we do, and the impact we have in the world, that we experience meaning.

Virtual Cocoons hosts a humble selection of 15 artists, whose work reflects on our involuntary cocooning during lockdowns and quarantine.

With Virtual Cocoons we offer an exploration of isolation, transformation, and coping mechanisms associated with the pandemic. We may not be done with our ongoing process of regeneration, solutions may be hard to find, but by sharing these cocoons we hopefully can offer temporary spaces for reflection, insight, joy, and connection.

The walls between real-life and networks have long since tumbled. the age of hyper-connectedness is not merely about the constant changes and infinite possibilities, but also the massive emotional changes it brings about in people. 

Great Offline is a space where we take a voluntary pause and adopt new perspectives, where we embody the reality for one another and through which we can see the world whole.
