Project: ArDrive Onboarding
Role: Product Designer
Team: 1 PM, Head of Product, 2 Engineers, Marketing Manager
Overview
ArDrive is a web3 suite of open-source apps, developer tools, and libraries that enable users to upload, manage, secure, and share their data indefinitely.
Problem:
- Current onboarding experience is too long and confusing.
- New users don't understand what ArDrive does.
- No room for adding the new Metamask sign-in method.
Constraints:
- Limited user research.
- 15 different journeys based on the user types.
- Generating a wallet in the background on each sign-in.

Designs
Final
Our focus was creating a user-friendly layout that gives information about ArDrive for Web2.5 users, streamlining the login & signup methods, repurposing the tutorial screens to be informative, and reducing friction on the onboarding flow overall.
We devised the bento layout idea to give as much information as possible in a limited space.

Results
The outcome of this project is largely qualitative.
The final designs are used to build a refreshed welcome page and make a design impact to improve the ArDrive brand identity while addressing usability issues.
