About WOMBO
WOMBO is building a generative AI media platform and is transforming the future of how people consume social AI content. Our mission is to help unleash everyone’s creativity through the magic of AI with delightful, easy to use creation tools and fun, viral outputs that bring people together.
We’ve created products with over 180+M downloads, and we plan to create even more impact as generative AI continues to grow. We’ve raised $10+ million from top investors and have an experienced, passionate team from Linkedin, Google and Shopify, and more.
We’re backed by some of the best investors in AI and entertainment space: including NVIDIA, Coreweave, Sound Ventures / Ashton Kutcher, Gabe Leydon (Founder of Machine Zone), Kyle Vogt (Founder of Twitch), Clem Delangue (CEO of Hugging Face), and Nat Friedman (ex-CEO of Github).
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced product designer with a strong focus on craft and product thinking. You’ll be working on our core product Dream, as well as upcoming experimental projects with a consumer, mobile-first focus. As a startup, sometimes you may also need to jump into marketing and branding (hope you also love new and interesting design touches and funny memes!). This is a great opportunity for someone looking to dive into consumer/new products with a strong emphasis on a playful and engaging interface design.
Qualifications and experience
-
3-5+ years of experience in a professional design role
-
High proficiency in Figma (our main design tool!) with the ability to create visual components from scratch and prototype common interactions
-
Strong visual and user interface design skills paired with strong product thinking or product sense - we need someone who can work quickly in high-fidelity designs rather than wireframes
-
Identify and solve core UX and business problems through research, user feedback, data and design thinking
-
Ability to contribute and maintain WOMBO’s design style and branding
-
Strong ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with clear communication skills
-
Help build and set a high bar for craft across visual, interaction and brand design
Bonus!
-
Animation and motion design with tools such as After Effects
-
Prototyping dynamic, novel interactions
-
User research + methodologies
-
Creating and maintaining design systems
As a product designer at WOMBO, you’ll:
-
Collaborate closely with Vlad, our junior product designer and our PMs (CEO and CPO) to explore and build amazing consumer AI experiences. We build, iterate and have the decisiveness to call off a project with speed and intentionality.
-
Own and contribute to the designs and design processes - be flexible enough to tackle large design projects, small UI changes and unexplored green spaces
-
Work not only on solutions, but at times you may need to help with some of the work that product managers and researchers may take on at larger organizations
-
Add to the organization of design files and product documentation
-
Work cross-functionally with engineers, researchers and operations
-
Lean into your previous experiences and build upon existing company processes and culture
-
Have fun with the endless possibility of generative AI products - we highly encourage you to voice your ideas and curiosities
What it will be like working here (honest review)
-
We work in 1-2 week sprints and may have quick turnarounds for small design tasks (sometimes by end of day if necessary)
-
Ability to work with ambiguous, changing context
-
Ability to extract meaning and directives from abstract, large ideas into concrete concepts
-
Lots of ideas and designs may never be shipped but that’s okay - our progress is built upon the explorations and iterations of previous designs
About you
-
Strong portfolio showcasing your product design work - notably on user interfaces, interaction/prototyping and creating new designs from the ground up
-
Someone with strong but loosely held opinions on product and design
-
Work within ambiguous context and sometimes tight deadlines
-
Nice to have: passion for generative AI, consumer mobile products, novel human-computer interactions
