My role as a facilities manager in a data center is vital to maintaining the reliability,
availability, and security of our physical infrastructure.
By taking on these responsibilities and utilizing my expertise in various areas,
I contribute significantly to ensuring business continuity and uptime for our organization.

Some of my key duties include:
Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of data center equipment, such as servers, storage devices, network switches, and routers.

Some of the tasks I was involved in were Fiber Optics management and interconnection between different communication rooms on the Data Centre.

A multilevel office area with all the infrastructure to manage all of north island's operations for McDonalds. 111 cameras, 36 Wireless Access Points, and more than 440 data outlets, all managed between 4 data cabinets and a main Communications Cabinet.

Full Network installation along with a team of 15 network technicians. University’s $120 million development plan to meet the growth in student numbers at Auckland.

A different approach to the usual commercial wireless installation was used because of the nature of the building consisting in mainly fridge areas where humidity and temperatures were not ideal for permanent electronic devices such as Wireless Access Points.

As a project lead, I run Mercury Electrics networking project entirely along with Anton Drader as a Manager for Alaska Construction Interiors, with a rotating team of a total of 8 Technicians.

Installed and configured digital interactive light controls for In-room use by guests. System responsive to user input, time of the day, weather and season.

Unitec’s Hub was the first challenge I found myself with in the field, having to carefully select and strip old services out in order to clean the path for the new systems to be installed.

Back in 2016 I had the opportunity to work along Callender Electric for the lab’s major renovation. The lab was expanded to include a larger workspace and updated equipment, such as more advanced robotics hardware. This renovation allowed for more advanced research and projects to be undertaken, including the development of autonomous robots and drones.
