2024 More or Less

I haven’t ever really been a New Year’s resolutions person. I feel like everyone says that, no?

Well... instead of resolutions, here’s a short list of things I’d like to do more of or less of in 2024 (in no particular order):

More

  • More reading just for fun.

  • More distraction-free time with my wife and daughter.

  • More outdoors. More hikes.

  • More walks around the neighborhood.

  • More exercise. Walking. Running. Rowing. Lifting.

  • More spontaneous trips. Even small ones. Especially small ones.

  • More writing. Journaling just for me. Writing my newsletter. Writing with a pen and paper.

  • More “doing life” with friends. Walks. Dinners. Grocery runs. Game nights. Park hangs.

  • More naps.

  • More buying vinyls and actively listening to them.

  • More shopping small and supporting indie creators/makers.

  • More recording. Songs. Field/Foley. Videos.

  • More design. Typography. Icons. Colors. Systems.

  • More cooking at home. New recipes. Old recipes.

  • More phone calls.

  • More investment in quality. Quality clothing. Food. Time.

  • More creating. Sketching. Music.

Less

  • Less sugar. Especially processed.

  • Less alcohol.

  • Less stressing about to-do lists.

  • Less single use plastics. Less waste.

  • Less arguing about things that you forget about what you are even arguing about.

  • Less camera-on video calls.

  • Less screen time. Less social media consumption.

  • Less subscriptions.

  • Less email.

  • Less worrying about what others think.

  • Less buying things I don't really need.

  • Less reliance on Amazon.
