Overview

In my Digital Business course, I learned about Social Media Marketing. At the end of the course, the lecturer assigned a project where students had to create Instagram content for an existing business and write captions for it.

Instagram Feeds Suggestion

Based on the existing Instagram feeds, I created a variety of Instagram content suggestion, including product promotions, games, exclusive offers, quotes, mini Wikipedia-style posts, tips and tricks, and style inspiration.

I chose a soft-selling approach to encourage engagement between sellers and buyers while preserving the business's distinctive identity, which centers around selling batik leather shoes.

A unique addition to the content I proposed was the 'Sedia' or Sebootik Pedia section, offering captivating insights into the products and the business.

Captions

For the second assignment, I was tasked to create captions for two Instagram contents that had been previously created. Here are the results!

Caption 1

Objective: The caption aimed to promote Sebootik new products ahead of Hari Raya Lebaran (Eid al-Fitr).

For the first caption, it included several key elements, such as:

  1. Situational Adaptation: Crafted the caption to align with the Eid al-Fitr moment. Since Eid is common with new starts, releasing the latest product during Eid was seen as the perfect timing.

  2. Product Description: Provided specific details about the promoted product, such as its materials, price, and promotion period.

  3. Sense of urgency: Enhanced the limited-time promotion with a fun pantun to make it engaging and exciting.

  4. Call to Action (CTA): Utilized a "Shop now!" call to action, urging the audience to buy, while providing contact information for Sebootik purchases.

Caption 2

Objective: soft-selling

For the second caption, it included several key elements, such as:

  1. Soft Selling: Integrated Lebaran style inspiration with Sebootik products without being intrusive, maintaining a soft selling approach.

  2. Engagement: Asked a question to the audience to foster interaction and engagement.

Results

  • The assignments were not actually posted on Instagram. But, developing Instagram contents and captions have the potential to help business (@Sebootik) create engaging and captivating content on that platform.

  • This project helped me gain a better understanding of how to design effective content for social media.
