About
Hey, I’m Matthew, but everyone calls me Lettini. I’m a product designer-who-codes from NYC. My goal is to make life easier for people, one pixel at a time. Along the way I try to make it a little fun, too.
I recently spent over a ✨decade✨ helping to build Harvest and Forecast, some of the web’s best team time tracking, invoicing, and scheduling software. Now I’m working on some exciting new stuff at Good Enough.
My strength is my ability to swiss army knife. I do all the -ing’s of a product generalist: designing, managing, building, researching, strategizing, analyzing, iterating, coding, leading… you name it, I've -ing'd it.
Beyond the desk I’m a new puppy dad-in-training, an out-of-practice musician, and an avid gamer always ready to min-max a new D&D character. I love hiking, basketball, karaoke, the oxford comma, and a good cognac.
You can find me @mlettini in most places.
Work Experience
My role at the company expanded in these years alongside design work to include hiring, mentoring, strategy, managing contractors, leading design reviews, and creating processes. Project work included leading a new product rebrand, revamping onboarding and cancellation flows, simplifying billing flows, implementing notification systems, researching IA problems, and contributing to the creation of a new design system.
For a portion of my tenure at Harvest, I led a small team that designed, built, and maintained Forecast, a sister app that helps teams plan their time. We went from back-of-napkin concept to product launch in about a year, and continued to improve and grow it over the next four years. Today it helps thousands of paying customers get a handle on their scheduling, and contributes a significant amount of revenue to Harvest’s overall business.
I was the first design hire at the company, and for these years worked closely with the co-founders to reimagine most of the product offering. This included redesigning the core time tracking and reporting features, creating the first in-house Mac and iPhone apps, multiple redesigns of the marketing site and web app, and designing the open-source library Chosen. Harvest experienced tremendous growth in these years due to these efforts.
