About
Midori Mukai is a Toronto based emerging artist working in the field of ceramics and fine craft. She began her official practice in 2022, exploring work which highlights the elemental process of clay and traditional approaches to art. Her practice explores organic material centring around process, craftsmanship, and memory in relation to tactile perception. Currently working under the pseudonym, AIYÊ, Mukai wishes to explore the journey of the Afro-Brazilian Diaspora, ultimately shifting the Western perspective of the Global South — Creating an open record of origin and cultural exchange.
