Work Experience

2022 — Now
Staff Product Designer at Loom
2020 — 2022
London / Remote

Helping make Loom available on the go: I design the Loom iOS and Android apps.

2017 — 2020
Vancouver / Remote

At MetaLab, I helped design web and mobile products for technology companies little & big. Working on projects which were typically around 3 months in length, I collaborated with other product designers, researchers, and engineers to create accessible, cohesive, and beautiful user experiences.

2016 — 2017
Freelance Product & Brand Designer at Self Employed
London / Remote

Independent designer working on UX, visual, and identity for digital products with small and large tech companies in London and remotely.

2015 — 2016
🌐

I finished my time at Mint Digital working out of their New York office. From November 2015 to September 2016 I took some time out to see (and cycle) the world and refocus, eventually riding over 7000 miles through Korea and Japan, and across the United States. I documented the journey here, writing for everyday I rode: blog.walker.kim/category/cycle…

2013 — 2015
London / NY

Mint Digital was a special place where I learned a huge amount about user centred design, collaboration with engineers, and about the role of design in business in general.

In my role I worked closely with other interaction designers, creative strategists, and developers creating delightful and useful products. I worked across both large client projects (Tesco, Channel 4, Goldman Sachs, Universal), small startups, and Mint's own array of internal ventures and products.

Alongside longer term client engagements I partook in a number of ‘Four Days to Launch’ - design jams in which we designed and shipped something within a week.

My design process developed significantly during my time at Mint and the sense of collaboration and experimentation is something i’ll always be looking to find in future roles.

2011 — 2013
London

Lead designer in a busy digital team creating engaging, usable designs for clients with a focus on the premium fashion and lifestyle sector. I was responsible for the look and feel of the majority of the company’s visual design, UX, and I assisted with creative and strategic concepts.

2009 — 2011
Junior Designer at Anywhichway!
London

As junior designer, I took care of web, print design and layout for a broad range of clients at this digital agency, including artworking, retouching, and flash animation.
