### **What is Swiggy Moments?**

Swiggy Moments is a customer-to-customer gifting marketplace on Swiggy to inspire and enable last-minute gifting for different occasions, whether casual ones like Thank you, Sorry, Miss you, etc., or traditional ones like birthdays and anniversaries

With restaurant food as a category, the offering aims to be a useful avenue for last-minute casual gifting occasions - taking inspiration from the concept prevalent in the Western culture (like picking a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine while visiting a friend’s house), the offering has 50+ item collections for various moods, occasion, cuisines & brands.

The gifting supply universe in v1 has 400+ top-rated (4+ rating), marquee & premium resto-brands like Starbucks, Theobroma, Royce Chocolates, Le 15, etc. co-created in assistance with the Swiggy Mumbai team’s local expertise. Each item collection is different from another and has hyper-locally curated 50-100 bestsellers & must-try gift-worthy dishes to pick and choose from.

The service also enables the gifter (person sending the gift) to personalize the gift by different means like - recording & sending a video message or writing a note and sending it along with a nice digital card to express his/her feelings according to the occasion.

Currently, it’s an intra-city service launching in Mumbai. Swiggy users can access Swiggy Moments from its app (Android & iOS) by selecting the recipient’s location, filling in the recipient’s name & contact number, choosing the right occasion from 15+ listed occasions, or just browsing multiple cuisine & brand collections, and lastly picking the suitable gift-worthy food item(s) they want to send as a gift.

### **Some Insights after launching “Swiggy Moments”**

**Where are we currently?**

We were trending at an average order per day (OPD) of about 70 in the month of January with over 2,100 peaks (orders) being delivered at an average order value of 510 INR\
\
We have also been witnessing the strong emergence of casual gifting behavior, with nearly 60% of the total gifters using Moments for casual occasions/gifting (e.g.: Express love, Congrats, etc.). \
\
This has further signalled validation of casual gifting moat which Swiggy Moments aims to see

Three clear cohorts of consumers are now visible: planned gifters (56%), casual explorers (33%), and referrals (11%)

The top three occasions for gifting for users have been: “Express love” (\~28%), “Birthday” (\~18%), and “Festival” gifting (\~14%)

About 22% of gifters were from other cities who gifted food to their loved ones in Mumbai during the month of January, indicating a potential for inter-city gifting use case.

**Some early insights and learnings:**

Our orders spiked as festivities began during the month of December. At 236 orders, Moments saw its highest OPD on Christmas

Over 2,200 peaks were delivered and the average gift order value was around INR 480 during December

About 10% of Moments users opted for a personalized video greeting (sent via Swiggy Moments platform) while sending gifts to their loved ones.

Ubiqare is an innovative SAAS product that addresses the complexities of patient management and online consultations in the healthcare industry. Designed to be white-labeled for hospitals, Ubiqare offers a transformative solution that caters to various stakeholders, including doctors, reception staff, patients, and administrators. This case study delves into the development of Ubiqare, its features, the rationale behind its design, and the profound impact they have on each user persona.

### **The Problem**

In a dynamic healthcare landscape, the need for seamless patient management and remote consultations became evident, especially during events like the COVID-19 pandemic. Hospitals struggled to maintain efficient communication with patients, manage medical records, and ensure continuous care beyond physical visits. Ubiqare was conceived as a response to this challenge, with the goal of providing a unified platform that enables hospitals to offer top-tier healthcare services remotely.

### **Product Features**

1. **Online Consultations:** Ubiqare allows patients to schedule online consultations with their doctors, ensuring convenient access to medical expertise without the need for in-person visits. This feature benefits patients who require ongoing care for conditions like cancer, neuro care, and post-operative recovery.

2. **Health Record Management:** Patients can access their lab reports, medical history, prescriptions, and diagnostic images such as X-rays and scans. This empowers patients to take an active role in their healthcare decisions and fosters a sense of control over their medical information.

3. **Medicine Ordering:** Patients can place orders for medicines directly through the platform, streamlining the prescription fulfillment process. This feature is particularly valuable for individuals undergoing post-operative care, elder care, and general healthcare.

While our initial design was graphically intensive, customer feedback prompted us to pivot towards a data-rich approach. We realized that customers desired more in-depth data representation. This transition allowed us to present a plethora of data to our clients, meeting their hunger for insights.

After extensive deliberation and a thorough comprehension of our customer's preferences, we undertook a series of iterations on the analytics page. This led us to transition towards a more tabular format enriched with comprehensive data. This strategic shift has afforded us the chance to effectively showcase a significantly larger volume of data to our valued customers.

Initially, our strategy entailed the creation of an elaborate and deeply comprehensive analytics framework. However, a shift in our approach led us to streamline and condense the content into a singular summary page, encompassing a comprehensive overview of all analytics for our customers. This judicious adjustment allowed us to successfully balance and align our business objectives with the essential needs and expectations of our valued customers.

Navigating data complexity was a significant challenge. With ever-evolving data points, we had to anticipate future changes while designing the platform. Collaborating closely with the backend team, we formulated formulas for data points and established mechanisms for data retrieval and manipulation.

To address customer requirements for customization, we implemented dynamic filters to accommodate varied data filtering needs. This collaboration also facilitated the creation and implementation of interactive graphs using Three.js, enhancing the user experience.

## Feature - Sending Swiggy order as a gift

This is a really cool feature that enables you to send your favorite food from Swiggy as a gift to someone and customize it based on any occasion.

As part of the design, I was asked to include micro-interactions and motion to delight and enhance the experience of receiving a virtual gift.

Receiving a link to a gift that opens the Moments feature in the Swiggy app when clicked. The User must then tap the screen to reveal the surprise. Once tapped, the next screen will appear with the following information:

1. Video message from the sender

2. Information about delivery

## The Experience

So, first and foremost, I attempted to comprehend the psychology of receiving and opening gifts. Because this was the most important aspect of the Swiggy gifting experience, I did some research on receiving and opening gifts.

First, there is anticipation and intrigue. What is in the link? There is speculation in the user's brain about what might or might not be it. Moreover, there is the reveal, which is the payoff.

The viewer gets a reward from seeing what is inside and seeing how it matches up against whatever they expected it to be.

> *“So there is a neurological reward, big or small, but that completion of knowledge or the understanding is part of what drives it. People are just curious.”*

As a result, the second screen will serve as the big reveal, feeding the user's excitement and curiosity as they open the gift.

### Sensory Experience

Opening a gift stimulates the senses of the user. All senses would be curious and try to pick up small cues to identify the gift inside the packaging. As part of the experience, I wanted to incorporate some techniques to stimulate the senses and enhance the user's experience. To help with this, I added sounds and haptic feedback to the experience and some intriguing animation.

## Building the screens for the Animation

I rebuilt the screens from the ground up and prepared all of the Aftereffects layers. To quickly export all of my layers from Figma to After Effects, I use a Google plugin called AEUX.

## **Results**

My inspiration for the animation and the sounds mostly comes from Games. Games these days are moving towards the freemium models where they have in-game purchases. To get the users excited about receiving goodies from the game, they visually enhance how the goodies are delivered and received by the user. This was a significant source of inspiration for me to try to replicate the same model here.

Check out this video from Subway Surfers. This shows a user opening multiple mystery boxes to receive a mystery gift.

The animation is made keeping the timeframe in mind, Too slow? users will think the application is lagging. Too fast? the experience will be spoiled because the user will not be able to notice and comprehend what is happening. So I have specifically curated this timed sequence to delight the users without them noticing that a magical animation is taking place.

### Shine

Blinking stars and light streaks serve as a gentle reminder to the user and also tell them something precious is waiting inside.

The first nudge is to get the user excited about the surprise and to make the screen look lively.\

### Reveal & Excite

*Once the user taps to open*

The gift opens to reveal the contents when the user taps on the screen. We take this experience a step further by including a party popper to commemorate the event or occasion for which the gift is being sent.

## Adding Sounds (Experiment)

I have added a Gift wrapper opening sound and a party popper. The gift wrapper sound is to accompany the opening animation and also give a feel of unwrapping something. The Party popper just acts as a supporting sound to the pop happening on the screen

As this is just a prototype, I have added the best audio I could find, But I would really like to work on this more as the audio adds a lot to the experience of opening the gift.

## Retrospective

This is just a video prototype, It would be really easy to test it out if it was built into a mobile prototype and actual people tried using it. Testing this would give more insights into the Audio and Haptic feedback, As it was my first time incorporating these in a prototype and I am pretty confused about it.
