About
Researcher and designer, born 2nd Aug. 1998. You can find my research publications using my ORCiD.
Projects
Using IoT technologies, I aim to create a remote and autonomous water quality monitoring system that can be used to detect, localize, and identify pollution sources which pose a risk to the environment and people.
Side Projects
As a creative balance to my engineering studies, I started designing web templates for the blogging platform Tumblr in 2017 and I still continuously release new designs there.
Work Experience
Pursuing my PhD in the field of IoT-based water quality monitoring (see on-going main project) and fulfilling research and teaching duties as a research assistant.
Converted, visualized, and analyzed gauge data, ADCP data and simulation results; compared measured and simulated water quality data; summarized and presented results of these analyses. The research focused on the tide-influenced parts of the Elbe river (Cuxhaven to Geesthacht). The job was a stand-in and I worked at the BAW from June to September 2023; I ended the work relationship early to pursue my PhD at the University of Bremen.
Analyzed methods for the research of the morphodynamics of salt marshes on the Lower Saxonian coast, in Neßmersiel and Butjadingen (DE) as part of a research internship from Feb. to March 2022.
-
June to Oct. 2021: Involved in the research cruise HE586 of the RV Heincke (Bremerhaven, DE - Skagerrak, NO - Emden, DE). Research included analyzing water samples from a CTD-rosette with MATLAB.
-
April to June 2021: Involved in the NorthSat-X project. Worked with remote control and autopilots for the Sea Surface Scanner (research vessel for analysis of the sea surface microlayer).
Education
M.Sc. Marine Sensors
Thesis: Automated Analysis Of Coastal Webcam Footage By Means Of Machine Learning
