Work Experience
One of my favourite experiences as a software developer so far. Worked on a backend infrastructure team handling customer identity and role-based access control. Also got my hands on some infra tools like Kubernetes, Argo Workflows, and Terraform for the first time in a real world setting.
Got to work in a start up environment, pushing code much more frequently than I'd ever done before. Did a bunch of everything from frontend development in Vue.js to backend development in C# .Net, Python, and SQL.
Worked on the Orchestrator service for Alexa. EVERY single Alexa request went through our service, and we figured out where to route everything. I particularly worked on an API to parallelize start up time for our service, which helped with deployment and developer velocity. Huge scope and impact and I'm happy I got the experience.
My first *official* software development job! Learned how software development works in the real world, got to write a bunch of tests, and caught a few bugs here and there.
Did well and really enjoyed some of my computer science courses, and wanted to help others do the same. I like teaching!
