About

My work combines a background in graphic design, along with technology and user focused design thinking. I believe in technology and design as a means to connect and shape how humans around the world are seen, heard, and felt. My ethos in life is to always improve and leave things better than the way I found them.

Currently: Building the company design system/ language and creating cross team workflows and user research practices.

2013 — Now
Freelance Designer

Consulting and launching e-commerce storefronts for local companies. Building design systems and logos for agencies in both print and digital applications. My work has primarily been in the realm of graphic design, motion design, and responsive site design.

2021 — 2022
Vancouver, BC

Led usability and research initiatives on the overall checkout experience and optimizing internal HR tooling. Involved in all stages of the the product development process, from concept to prototypes to production. Supported Product Managers to help define product roadmap and strategies, key performance indicators and success metrics.

Collaborated with developers and designers to create an inclusive and accessible web experience, following A11Y compliance guidelines.

2017 — 2021
Product Designer at Bold Commerce

Leading UI designer for the Subscriptions application. Working on creating a consistent and scaling product experience across our application suite. Generating, validating, and iterating on high fidelity mock ups to guide the engineering team.

Initiated all phases of the design process as the sole product designer for many applications. From spearheading design sprints and leading design thinking and brainstorming workshops, conducting user research and testing, to wireframing and prototyping high fidelity mockups using React.js.

2016 — 2016
Contract Graphic Designer at D2L

(6 month contract work from July - September 2016)
Contracted to work on the D2L Brightspace project. Sourced as a graphic designer working on creating graphics and photography for the platform. Later introduced to conduct feedback on UI elements such as microanimations and facilitate in-house user testing.

Graphic Design Internship at Bison Transport

(Three week co-op program for Red River College)
Collaborated with marketing writers and a lead designer to work on projects for the Bison Transport website. Using HTML and CSS, built and illustrated web responsive infographics and promotion webpages.

2015 — 2015
Graphic Design Internship at University of Manitoba

(Two week co-op program for Red River College)
Collaborated alongside the marketing and design team to create digital production ready designs for the Bison sports team. Initiated and pitched print ready concepts for Teaching Life Magazine.
