About
Hey 👋 I’m Joanna, a designer and illustrator currently living in Poznan.
Experienced visual designer with a solid foundation in the technology and startup sectors. Adept at remote collaboration, successfully managing complex design projects and product launches while working seamlessly with developers and key stakeholders. I believe that living and working across diverse cultures has fine-tuned my cultural adaptability and communication (from Poland 🇵🇱 to Germany 🇩🇪, the UK 🇬🇧, and Canada 🇨🇦).

Projects
Some animations I've designed for Sololearn, Lingoda, Wimdu.
Objective: to design and develop a modern, user-friendly, and visually appealing website that effectively communicates Nanores Venture's commitment to pioneering nanotechnology solutions.
Website built with WCAG 2.1 in mind, meaning it's accessible to people with disabilities.
Over the years, I've managed to prepare a large number of infographics, translating data and research into visually compelling stories and narratives. I'm involved in the entire process, from brainstorming to the final product, as it allows me to ensure that the infographic effectively communicates the intended message.
Designs for Phlov, MomMe, Alkemie (beauty):
- brand packaging
- social media posts
- brand manuals
- marketing materials
- print assets
- landing pages, assets for web
Phlov is a cosmetic brand (managed by Anna Lewandowska) from Poland. I was responsible for creating some of the marketing and brand materials for web store, newsletter and other communication and marketing channels.
Designed a captivating web version of a postcard for Müller, blending tradition with modern flair.
One of my favorite projects so far.
I've designed several e-books for Wimdu (travel booking website), where my tasks involved: designing the layout, drawing maps, preparing sets of icons and curating the photos.

Exhibitions
EXHIBITION 'ILUMIASTO', an illustrated response to the activities of the MIASTOmovie festival: FROM TOMORROW, 21 April
Although this field has experienced a revival in Poland in recent years, we can still rarely find exhibitions devoted to it in Wrocław. The authors of the works are a group of people who met at an illustration workshop as part of Kopublikacja (Kopublikacja - BWA DESIGN Wrocław) in 2015. "Illumiasto" is an attempt to continue their collaboration in a new field - a group exhibition.
The artists represent different styles of making illustrations and also come from different cities in Poland. The works made for Ilumiasto are meant to be a kind of personal commentary on the Identity of the City.

Education
Throughout this intensive learning experience, I engaged deeply with Figma as a design tool, exploring web responsiveness and creating designs optimized for web and mobile platforms. My time was filled with tasks, guided by mentors, and enriched with interactive learning sessions.
Tasks included: wireframing with focusing on developing components and design systems for effective integration as well as learning how to interact with developers.
We have studied structures, values, norms, belief systems and historical perspectives across time, place and cultures on topics such as ethics, class and gender.
To be more specific: we discussed symbols, language, norms, values, and artifacts (connected to many issues, those listed above and more).
Certifications
I have completed a 3 months course, covering basics of UI
