Jessica Hische is a lettering artist and New York Times Best-selling author specializing in logo refreshes, books, and other commercial applications. She's worked for clients like Wes Anderson, Lionsgate films, ABC, Target, Apple, Hallmark, and more. She begrudgingly accepts the title of Design Leader, and is credited as founding the modern lettering movement.

Projects

2022

Custom designs for the full suite of Neiman Marcus culinary treats for the 2022 holiday season. The campaign also included dozens of third party product such as glassware, a cookie jar, pajamas, and more.

2020

Logo refresh for Gowalla, beloved tech brand which recently relaunched.

2019

A logo update for the iconic brand Squier, Fender's accessible line of guitars and basses.

Side Projects

2012

An elaborate parallax wedding website chronicling our life and engagement. Featured in countless design publications and referenced as an excellent example of online storytelling. Described by Gawker as "like 2 Wes Anderson movies started fucking each other"

2011

A tutorial website teaching HTML and CSS to non-developers utilizing easy to grasp language and metaphors. At one point taught in Stanford classrooms.

2009

The first daily lettering blog, which began as a tumblr and grew to immense popularity. Every day I drew an illustrative letter, completing 12 alphabets. The letters were/are available to embed in non-commercial websites to "prettify the internet".
