Partner at Nasi Forge

Nasi Forge is a software development agency that crafts digital solutions for growth-ready organisations.

The name, Nasi Forge, is a combination of words from two languages – nasi, which is the Malay word for “rice” and forge, which can mean “to create” or a place in which something is created.

What this means: We create products, software, and tech that put food on the table ie. generates revenue for your business and ours.

2019 — 2020

Bayu Harvest is a social enterprise that I co-founded with the aim to connect smallholder farmers from Sabah (Borneo) with buyers from all over the world.

We started right before the pandemic hit, which eventually led to us winding up, but I got the opportunity to:
• learn about village agricultural practices in Sabah
• deep dive into social enterprise operations
• design UI/UX wireframes for our website and progressive web app
• present our solution to international leaders during a senior leaders meeting at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2020

While we were operating, we won the APEC Digital Prosperity Award in 2019.

2015 — 2019
Content Marketer at Independent

During this period, I took on fractional marketing roles at startups such as Fave (previously KFit), NEXT Academy, and BloomThis.

I also bootstrapped an e-commerce company with $2,000 capital and was able to achieve a six-figure revenue within the first year, with only organic marketing (PR, SEO, social media).

After selling the business, I took a gap year, spending time in roles that were out of my wheelhouse including:
• bartender
• hair model
• podcaster

Hero rescue dogs aren’t born, they're trained, over years and years.
