Work Experience
We partner with businesses ranging from early-stage startups to scaled organizations to nonprofits. We build in-house product teams spanning business, product strategy, design, and engineering to create business and user value. We also build our own ventures.
As the first employee, I had the opportunity to define the foundation of the design and contribute to the development of the product. Because of our small team, I worked directly with the education team, the community team, the CTO, and the CEO. I contributed to the product’s growth of around 5,000 teachers as well as the team’s growth of almost 20 employees.
I led UI design for the product and collaborated closely with another designer and the engineering team to develop solutions that addressed business goals and user needs. I developed a simple, usable, and consistent style guide to bring additional leverage to the product team. I also conducted user tests with new and existing users, which informed our roadmap. Also co-taught a Skillshare class on UI/UX processes to hundreds of students.
Responsible for building new and robust internal web applications to support GE Energyʼs business needs, utilizing multiple programming languages including ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and VB.Net. Worked with management teams to review their goals and formulate product requirements. Those requirements guided the design and development of numerous internal products that provided further insight into the business. Products included project management software, risk management/analysis tools, data mining tools, and logistics management.
Updated and maintained the internal and public websites including design, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Dealt with sensitive material such as press releases, confidential information, and news items. Also designed and developed a redesign of the public Attorney Generalʼs website.
