A student-led in-person/virtual hackathon for hundreds of Ontario high school students in the York Region District School Board.
I'm part of the logistics team, focused on event coordination and planning. I also took part in the site development with the team.
Side Projects
Digital minimalism for Instagram. A full-stack Instagram dashboard web app, built to learn authentication, the Facebook Graph API, AWS, and file handling. Design inspired by Vercel, in hindsight I should have used their Geist design system.
Built with Next.js 13, AWS S3, the Facebook Graph API, etc.
Perhaps slightly over-engineered, but AWS was a straightforward solution to problems I encountered in file handling with the Facebook API.
A full-stack personal project — a project management software web app made with the Next.js 13 experimental app directory. Design & functionality was inspired by Jira and Linear.
Built with Next.js 13, Prisma, Planetscale, Typescript, Zustand, NextAuth, etc.
This project was successful in the end, but fell short in some regards. The state management between the client and server quickly got messy due to a lack of planning in advance 😅. I also should have used Tanstack Query.
An iOS and Android app for Ontario high school students in the York Region District School Board. Provides a feature-rich, easily accessible alternative to the official YRDSB TeachAssist web app.
Built with React Native, Expo, and Python.
Features include calculated mark averages, future mark calculations, in-depth analytics & trends, booking guidance appointments, teacher searching, notifications, and more.
Has over 2000 active users, and ranked in the top 100 education apps on the Apple App Store on release.
