In this workshop, I guided through a few basic stitches that are simple and easy to learn (Sashiko). The purpose was to allow you to find a rhythm by repeating these simple stitches, and to direct attention to your moving hands and the material.
A one-day workshop introducing hand sewing and embroidery techniques, highlighting the creative potential of hand sewing to manipulate textures and combine with draping for garment construction. The session was part of an upcycling project.
Work Experience
- Working closely with Cathrine Raben Davidsen on design and sewing-related tasks, providing support and technical assistance.
- Assisting in various tasks related to her artistic practice, including the installation of her exhibition 'ORAKEL' at Tegners Museum, 2023.
- Actively participating in the sales of Cathrine Raben Davidsen's lithographs, ceramic art, and books at CRD Studio in Sølvgade 4.
- Assisted customers in finding their perfect style by showcasing the different brands, emphasising their rich history and product quality.
- Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, prioritising the needs of customers and ensuring they felt well taken care of throughout their shopping journey.
- Actively participated in the day-to-day operations of the Design Department, including designing and constructing collections, meeting with suppliers, and presenting collections internally.
Independently handled the following tasks:
- Demonstrated a strong sense and natural talent in hand drawing through sketching designs, adapting given inspiration, and elevating them within the category.
- Created technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator.
- Conducted visual research for collections, as well as market and trend research.
- Developed artwork for prints.
- Updated digital and physical overviews of collections, ensuring a streamlined workflow.
- Maintained studio order highlighting strong organisational skills.

Designer at Carcel Clothing during its early stages as a startup, actively involved in shaping the brand's core values.

Collaborated closely with Head Designer Louise van Hauen to develop the initial styles for the brand's debut collections of luxurious 100% baby-alpaca knitwear.
