Work Experience

2023 — Now
Lead Interaction Designer & Portfolio Design Lead at Allegion
Carmel, IN

As the lead interaction designer, I focus on how users interact with our digital and physical products and systems. I partner closely with product and engineering leaders to understand and design user needs, success metrics, product requirement documents, and more.

Typical deliverables include:

  • Customer journey and empathy maps

  • User flows

  • Site/app inventory and architecture

  • Wireframes

  • Low-to-mid fidelity prototypes

  • Experience strategy

As the portfolio design team lead, I am responsible for managing our design team as a resource for our portfolio company. This includes resource management, strategy, planning, and delivery of design and design research work as well as leading the day-to-day design work.

Success as a lead also requires constant collaboration with cross-functional leadership to help drive the future of the product, encourage design involvement in the right projects at the right time, and ensure the teams are working toward the overarching business goals and user needs.

Outside my day-to-day role as an interaction designer, portfolio design team lead, and manager, I work with the Allegion Digital Product Design and the Allegion Pride Alliance ERG.

For the Allegion Digital Product Design team, I facilitate weekly cross-portfolio design reviews to encourage an environment of growth and constant feedback. I work with other portfolio leads to determine the future success of the DPD team, which includes various resource management and organization tasks. My favorite of all is creating a monthly demo video reel of awesome work done by the team to socialize with the entire IT department and Allegion leadership.

I am also grateful to regularly have the opportunity to work with and present to the Allegion ELT and the Allegion Board of Directors.

For the Allegion Pride Alliance ERG, I have been lucky to work with the ERG leadership to promote APA's sponsorship presence at the 2024 Indy Pride Festival in Indianapolis. The majority of my responsibilities have been communication strategy and planning as well as writing several communications that have been broadcast to the company.

2022 — 2023
Remote

I was the Senior Product Designer on Formstack's core Forms product. In my position, I lead the direction and growth of the Forms product in tandem with the Product Manager and the Engineering Manager to meet the needs of our users and internal stakeholders. I also led the direction and growth of the Forms product roadmap as part of the cross-functional product leadership team.

I supported a team of 10+ engineers in developing functional documentation and development criteria for all projects. I took all projects through the entire product design lifecycle—from research and planning to designing and testing to pre- and post-release QA. My product manager partner and I obsessed over data after every release to ensure what we delivered met our customers' needs and also performed well from a software perspective.

In addition, I worked alongside 8+ product designers to develop and grow our platform design system. I led and contributed to several design sprints and workshops that directly impacted the direction of Formstack.

Outside my regular responsibilities, I managed and mentored several early-career designers and a non-career designer in all things product design.

Forms is a B2B online form-building platform that serves +16k paid accounts with over 95,000 weekly active users.
