About

I’m Amie, a designer specializing in developer tools. For the past 5 years, I’ve worked in the developer tooling spacing in both GitHub and Netlify, augmenting the developer experience. Before that, I worked for 5 years as a freelance, agency designer and front-end developer for worldwide brands.

Work Experience

2021 — Now
Remote

I’m a senior product designer at GitHub, initially working in Actions for 2 years, and now I work in Copilot and our AI experiences. I’ve used my design leadership and experience to drive internal projects that have yet to be released. Some public releases I contributed to include:

  • Delivered a new sidebar to improve the Actions user's experience, writing a blog post about my process.

  • Spearheaded Copilot custom models, unveiled at Universe 2023, which will soon help drive more enterprises to adopt Copilot Enterprise.

  • Spearheaded the Actions usage metrics experience, collaborating closely with the team to develop a short-term and long-term vision, contributing with research, jobs to be done, and a prioritization workshop to continue innovating in this space.

  • Contributed to the successful private beta launch of Larger Runners and GPU support.

  • Worked on both the CLI and UI experience for Caches in workflows.

  • Contributed to the initial explorations of Required workflows, which helped lay the foundation for its transition to Repository Rules.

  • Delivered several talks at our internal conferences, one expanding on my experience working with our design system and how to get started using it, which was published on our public YouTube to 1.6k views.

  • Facilitated and participated in a Panel discussion on hiring in design with women in leadership. This let me share my experiences with a group of students and help set them up for success.

2019 — 2021
Senior Product Designer at Netlify
Remote

I collaborated with a cross-disciplinary team in improving multiple areas of our product, using my design toolkit as a vehicle to drive conversations and facilitate implementation. Some highlights included:

  • Improved the experience for larger organizations by introducing multi team management. This work led us to our biggest enterprise deal yet while reducing the number of support tickets.

  • Added a collaborative experience to deploy previews, featured on Tech Crunch, so that developers could iterate and merge code faster. I was the design liaison to a newly acquired company and helped ship an innovative experience on the market that was Netlify-owned.

2018 — 2021
UI/UX Designer at Cabin
Remote

As a contractor, I was hired to expand Cabin’s brand and product and assist with their relaunch. Being the lead designer, I was involved on different brand and product touch points, from their marketing website to their backend dashboard, establishing a cohesive design system in the process.

2014 — 2019
Freelance Digital Designer at Freelance
Remote

I’ve helped both small businesses and Fortune 500 companies in designing solutions ranging from UI/UX, Branding and Infographic projects. Some select clients include LinkedIn, Oracle, Salesforce and The People Piece

2017 — 2019
