THE GAME:
ZHED is an instant classic puzzle game. Based on a simple mechanic, it builds onto increasingly complex puzzles that challenge you to a level you would not imagine. No timers, no clocks, no stars and no tricks, just pure puzzles for you to enjoy.
MY ROLE:
UI Design

Restructured the entire game layout to work responsively in any aspect ratio and screen resolutions.

Designed and implemented new screens

Designed and implemented all button and key prompts icons.
UI Programming

Redid the whole game's navigation system to work seamlessly with all controller types.

Implemented seamless support for keyboard, mouse and gamepad input with button prompts and icons for the 3 main controller layouts (PS, XBOX and Nintendo), for the Steam version.

Implemented seamless support for all Joy-Con play modes, Pro Controllers and touch input, for the Nintendo Switch version.

Designed and implemented a dynamic key icon generator for keyboard input.

Implemented controls remapping for both keyboard and gamepad input on both versions.

Also implemented the haptic feedback system for all gamepad controllers, both for the Steam version and the Nintendo Switch version.

Developed and animated the interaction states for menu selection buttons, icons and the game's piece selector.

Tool development to optimize UI (and its systems) implementation.
