I landed at Hatch on day 1 to design & build our MVP as our first product/design hire. I worked with a small but mighty cross-functional team of engineers, org psychs & data scientists to validate a new data driven approach to hiring - connecting candidates & teams based on authentic fit.

As our product footprint grew, I went from founding product designer to Head of Product - growing an expert team & owning the roadmap from definition to execution.

Hatch has since connected a community of 20k+ candidates with hundreds of top employers for meaningful work experiences. These are some of my notable achievements building Hatch from scratch:

* **Product leadership:** I navigated complex business & market environments to evolve & constantly communicate an inspiring product vision to steer the team forward with conviction & unwavering focus on who we are building for.

* **Product team building**: I lead the establishment of a high performing, cohesive & joyful product team & culture, that attracted truly top talent, & even better humans. Our output expertly balanced UX quality with a startup pace.

* **Design direction:** I established and stewarded an accessible & honest brand direction, and design system - that enabled us to move quickly, with consistency - while differentiating with a helpful, "Hatchy" tone & presence.

* **Human centred at the core**: I fostered human centred, design thinking practices across functions - bringing customer context & voice to strategy & product execution. I established always on customer discovery & feedback mechanisms across product, sales & customer success.

* **Always be executing:** I lead product team delivery against the roadmap week to week stewarding our rituals, unblocking the team, & leading by example executing high quality, end to end user experiences.

In addition to having had the unique opportunity to build & lead a team of empathetic, smart and incredibly skilled people — I’m incredibly proud of the impact our mission has provided to our customers, specifically young people:

* We built a jobs marketplace that connects thousands of early career candidates to jobs at Australia’s best employers (Westpac, Atlassian, Spotify) — creating new inroads to high-value digital careers for the next generation.

* Developed an innovative tech-based labour hire platform that generated over $20m gross revenue with a team of less than 10 people

* Rapidly repurposed existing technology and infrastructure to help businesses hire 1,000’s of out of work people during the height of COVID-19

* Built a candidate-centric jobs marketplace which takes a modern, data-led approach to recruitment in reducing bias — helping candidates find work with greater alignment to their individual strengths, values & interests
