Projects
Himachal Pradesh is the second largest producer of apples🍎 in India with a turn over of Rs 4000 crore per anm. One apple tree takes 15 years to bear fruit but 10% of all apple harvest gets damaged in the gathering and packaging stage.
To help my community, I :
- Conducted research using design thinking to understand the needs of apple farmers as well as labourers working on field
- Observed closely the journey of an apple from a tree to packed cartons.
- Designed ergonomic solutions for plucking, gathering and transferring the apples to reduce damage caused in the process, protecting the tree as well as mitigating the health hazards caused to the labourers during manual material handling.
- Suggested materials keeping in mind all economical and executional limitations while also considering the challenges of the terrain.
Side Projects
Designed a no code, simple, yet intuitive portfolio website which serves as my bible holding all my work and other endeavours in one place. This gave me a better understanding of my own style of working.
Documenting my time at the Himalayan Orchard during research work for my graduation project gave me an insight into the lives of the farmers and labourers at the site. I was not only exposed to their pains and gains but also their cultures, their stories and their love.
17% of the world's population uses 80% of the world's resources.

Volunteering
It is as rewarding as it is challenging to teach a 6th grader the basics of science. It would be unfair to say I teach and the kid learns, because we both learn from each other equal parts. I try to keep the classes interactive , fun and relevant by engaging more as a friend rather than a teacher.
A rewarding and humbling experience of working on ground in the Matrimandir gardens, learning about plants and horticulture.
Experience of lifetime to work so closely with the horses at Baraka, learning more about myself through the horses.
