As a product designer on Community Safety at Lyft, I look for opportunities to create safer interpersonal experiences for anyone who uses the app. Company-wide, this involves ad-hoc consulting, developing frameworks and resources for others, presenting to our product, design, and engineering teams, and finding opportunities for collaboration.
Within our safety org, this involves focusing on various projects within the safety space. This includes safety feature awareness, privacy, risk mitigation, incident detection, and reporting.
Before Lyft, I worked at another marketplace company, GoFundMe. There, I worked on every aspect of the product. Payments and withdrawals, community interactions, internal risk tooling, storytelling and campaign creation, marketing experiences, and campaign management on iOS, Android, and web. I spent a year and a half managing the design team and representing design as its leader, managing five direct reports while also leading redesigns of the core GoFundMe experience, the public campaign page and the donation funnel.

Currently working on safety-focused features within the Lyft apps for both driver and rider experiences, safety reporting, safety education, and also consulting directly with many other teams on safety improvements to their products.
Also spent time leading product design for consumer insurance and financial safety within the Risk Solutions organization. Designed and launched the Lyft Insurance Marketplace, which allows Lyft drivers to compare and purchase coverage from multiple partners in the iOS, Android, and web experiences.

Worked cross functionally to improve design calibrations and ladder system, establish new design values and principles, and established an onsite research recruitment process.
Took inventory of the current status and complete responsibilities of the design function to improve the clarity of the role company-wide. Advocated and led hiring for two open roles, and also secured headcount for two additional roles to grow the team. Collaborated with top-notch external brand agencies such as Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv regarding brand vision.
