About

Currently working at Waymo and chipping away at Roam Club on the side.

Previously a designer at Lyft where I worked on several challenging initiatives. I led design for a new product, the Lyft Insurance Marketplace, and also worked to improve Community Safety as I led education and reporting initiatives.

Before Lyft, I led the design team at GoFundMe as its sole design manager across both its consumer business and its non-profit business, Crowdrise.

Work Experience

2020 — 2023
San Francisco

Worked on safety-focused features within the Lyft apps for both driver and rider experiences, safety reporting, and safety education. Led workshops and vision generation for several safety-focused areas. Became an internal safety design advocate and consultant, collaborating with many other teams (product, design, science, and executive) on privacy and safety improvements to their products.

Tasked with leading ambiguous project spaces such as Lyft's dynamic island for the Apple Keynote (before we knew it was a dynamic island), as well as AI-related investments.

Conceptualized, designed, and launched Lyft's first smartphone-based dashcam feature – allowing drivers to stream footage to an ADT security professional through their mobile device in an emergency.

2018 — 2019
Redwood City

Took on design leadership for the company while assisting with the rebrand of Crowdrise to GoFundMe Charity. Maintained product design focus and started to contribute to formal design leadership, process and organizational design. Directly managed all other designers. Led the redesign of the GFM system identity and new fundraiser page. Led the redesign of the logged out experience in collaboration with SEO team. Worked cross functionally to improve design calibrations and ladder system, establish new design values and principles, and established an onsite research recruitment process.

Took inventory of the current status and complete responsibilities of the design function to improve the clarity of the role company-wide. Advocated and led hiring for two open roles, and also secured headcount for two additional roles to grow the team. Collaborated with top-notch external brand agencies such as Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv regarding brand vision.

Hired as the second designer at GoFundMe. Contributed to various brand and product design projects.

Utilized qualitative and quantitative data to iterate on existing experiences and proposing new functionality. Started a meetup with other product designers at companies in Redwood City, such as Evernote, SumoLogic, and Shazam.
