Just branching out into my online presence (whatever that means)
Side Projects
I started this repertoire of design resources for myself (blogs, tools, inspo sites, etc), but realized it could be useful for others too. So, I'm starting to make it public and also polishing the way the items are presented (WIP ALERT), in the hopes others can make use of this too.
In 2023 I decided to start writing my very own blog posts. I don't take this very seriously, but more as a way to share the opinions that are always crossing my mind.
Embroidery is my main side project, where I express myself in a more creative and personal way. I find it a bit cringey to call myself an ✨artist ✨, but yeah I guess this is my artist side.
Work Experience
Even though it was a short stay due to the timing of other opportunities, during my four months at Rootstrap I enjoyed working with a great team of designers on:
-
Designing experiences, mainly websites and web apps, being involved in refinement exercises, stakeholders interviews, audits, discovery sprints, wireframing, UI conception and implementation.
-
Collaborating with multi disciplinary teams: Product Managers, Project Managers, Developers, QAs, and more.
-
Presenting progress to stakeholders and interpreting feedback and instructions forward.
-
Working on internal company initiatives to better document design progress and resources, learn together and individually, create better tools for the team, and more.
Working with both established clients and small startups in crafting or evolving digital products across various industries.
-
As a lead designer, I communicated with senior stakeholders to identify design opportunities, prioritize MVP features, and plan and scope design solutions.
-
Leading junior designers, overseeing their work and collaborating keeping the stakeholders and standards at the front center.
-
Modeling documentation and establishing project processes standards to enable better communication and outcomes.
-
Crafting innovative solutions, iterating together with the clients to achieve the best result while being aligned to the vision and goals.
Mainly, we worked on editorial design for Nuvó direct sales catalog, and packaging for all sorts of products, for brands such as Ta-Ta Supermarkets and such.
-
Crafting packaging ideas mainly for food products, collaboratively with the design team and the client representatives.
-
Maintain the production of a direct sales catalog through monthly deliverables and team work to get a +140 pages editorial design out the door each month.
-
Creating and continuing a supermarket white line brand through new packaging designs as the items were added to their line.
In this opportunity, I worked in the e-mail marketing team for DIRECTV Latam, designing and adapting visual content communications and web templates for email campaigns.
-
Being part of a process where my design role in the email marketing team was tied to other roles in a very cyclic way.
-
Applying the DIRECTV brand to all communications, adapting to sub-lines and country-specific requirements.
-
Being on the lookout for ways to improve the communications templates, proposing additions, redesigns and upgrades of currently used ones.
