About
I’m a Gen Z teacher that is highly knowledgeable and trained in Cambridge International curriculum. In the last years, I’ve been highly fascinated with assessment & curriculum design, backward design, and high order thinking.
I'm also constantly looking for the best ways to integrate the use of technology with school to maximise students' engagement and, by extension, students' understanding and mastery.
One of the ways to do so is by utilising Discord in my classroom. I'm also hosting a media studies-related Podcast titled 'Room 9607' — so far, it’s received rave reviews from my students.
Having been both a graphic designer slash creative writer and an academia, I’m hardly a stranger towards the 21st century skills necessary for my students to master: design thinking and critical thinking.
I ventured to the world of education to pursue my long-wanted career in teaching after four years of dwelling in the world of digital marketing & design and being involved in my lecturers’ projects, making me equipped with the necessary practical skillsets beside my theoretical skillsets.
I currently have 5 years of combined experience in teaching AS & A Level Media Studies as well as Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for lower secondary.
My expertise includes media studies, film studies, digital media and design, media & digital literacy, and social sciences & humanities. I’m also interested in coaching extracurricular activities along the lines of digital marketing, career building, and personal branding.
Walking in the shoes of a struggling student when I was younger has made me passionate in helping the future generations to learn.
Safe to say, teaching has become a personal pursuit and a life purpose for me. I have a mission to provide a safe space for my students and create an engaging & inclusive classroom with the help of technology integration, all while developing an environment which nurtures their critical thinking…
