Deep Dive XR
Climate Education using XR Tech in London, UK (Available worldwide)
About
DeepDive XR is a collective of passionate designers crafting informational and educational immersive experiences addressing pressing environmental issues. It is driven by the ambition to make a transformative change in the realm of environmental education and sustainability literacy and bridging the gap between awareness and action.
Projects
Whale Fall is an immersive experience designed to raise awareness about marine plastic pollution and its devastating impact on whales. Developed in collaboration with the UK-based Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC), the project employs the poetic metaphor of a "whale fall" to highlight the interconnectedness of life and the urgent need to protect our oceans. It includes an interactive VR experience, a 360 documentary film and a cinematic immersive experience.
The UN designates life below water as a crucial but overlooked sustainable development goal. Whales, vital for global marine ecosystems and climate regulation, face threats from plastic pollution and hazards like fishing gear. Our project highlights a tragic real-life incident in 2019 when a pregnant sperm whale died from ingesting 22 kg of plastic in Sardinia, Italy.
