About
I am a Solution Architect with Multidots, a globally distributed enterprise WordPress agency and WP VIP Gold Partner founded in 2009. Formerly I've had roles within or highly engaged with WordPress product, agency, and hosting companies. I also have a background in academic, journalistic, and publishing cultures where I've used WordPress and open-source tools for civic advocacy and to support independent journalism projects. As a generalist with specialist depth in many areas, I thrive in interdisciplinary, collaborative environments with opportunities to break down silos with cross-functional teams. My top organizational skills lie in communication, client success, conflict resolution, consultative sales, project management, operational workflow/process analysis, and a capacity for finding clarity while minding the haystack of details that come with complex projects, people, and systems.
Work Experience
Projects
Another Sitecore to WordPress migration with moderately complex integration requirements.
A Sitecore to WordPress migration for many different brands and lines of business within one company. I was focused on the theaters (Santa Cruz and West Wind) and their integration with the Vista cinema platform. Read the full project case study. (I wrote it.)
I worked on the product, the migration, redesign, and rebranding. I wrote the marketing copy, including 100+ articles, and got the earned media.
This archive dates back to 2015-16 when I started helping Post Status' founder, Brian Krogsgard, with editing.
Side Projects
For the years I lived in Milwaukee (1999-2011), most were lived in Riverwest, or the 53212. During that time I started and left a PhD program. I also started a web development consulting business so I could be the home parent for (eventually) four daughters. As part of this, I helped others start a monthly newspaper that's still operating, a grocery cooperative and cafe, and a housing redevelopment and reinvestment co-op. I set them all up on WordPress or eventually migrated them there. These and a few other Milwaukee projects turned out to be my oldest and most resilient contributions to the web.

An extensive archive and portfolio of my writing for the web since the late 1990s. (Most of it is considerably more recent.)
