About
Hi there, I'm Chris Rushing, an Emmy award-award winning creative director and multidisciplinary design leader hailing from Georgia and now based in Seattle, WA. I've been in the game for over 17 years, working on branding, digital, and marketing for big names like Google, BuzzFeed, At&T, CVS and GoDaddy (just to name a few!). I love tackling unique challenges and believe that innovation and collaboration are the keys to success.
I'm all about building authentic relationships with my collaborators, and I've got plenty of experience to show for it. I've worked in-house, at agencies, and as a freelancer, with companies like Mother NY, Huge, Critical Mass and Ogilvy. I also co-founded a social design event series called Draft & Draw in NYC.
I'm proud to say that I've won an Emmy and a Webby for my work while at Time Warner. I continued that winning streak as Brand Creative Director at GoDaddy, where I helped to lead the charge on the company's global rebrand in 2020. We had a bold vision to shift the global economy towards life-fulfilling independent ventures, and I worked closely with teams across the board to make that vision a reality.
At BuzzFeed, I built the brand design team from the ground up and created a digital style guide and asset library that was used company-wide. I also partnered with real estate teams to bring the brand to life in offices across NYC and LA.
As a freelance creative director and art director, I bring my skills to a variety of projects across a range of mediums, providing consultation, direction, design, and illustration.

Projects
When I first moved to NYC, I'd sometimes meet up with designer friends at a bar to hang out. Being creatives, we’d usually have our sketchbooks and sometimes end up drawing. I think after doodling with 4 or 5 friends one time, I started thinking about a bigger idea. Bringing a large group of people together for a drink and draw had been done but not necessarily within the graphic design realm. At least not the way I was imagining it could happen. The wheels started turning and shortly thereafter I sought out some help from my buddy Shane Zucker. After lots of brainstorming & designing, Draft & Draw was born.
