About
Hi 👋🏾, I'm Collins and I'm a Product Designer and Design Manager with four years of experience designing products and building teams for startups and service-led companies. In the last four years, my designs have serviced over 30+ enterprises, startups, and brands, and addressed problems for over 150k+ users across the world, and I have helped companies shape and scale design culture.
I love leading teams, developing good health, and finding people's tremendous potential to generate an excellent work environment. Diving head deep into design leadership and the craft of management, I have gained experience recruiting for a variety of positions, building great teams, motivating and advancing designers' careers, supporting a positive design culture and leading with empathy.

Speaking
-
I was invited to speak to a community of 150+ attendees on Managing Tasks effectively: A guide to Jira for beginners.
-
Jira is a productivity tool that is used for project management. It helps teams plan, assign, track, report, and manage work.
-
It takes more than being good at designing to excel in your design career. With a myriad of equally good and great designers out there gunning for your dream job, what gets you the job may not be able to help you keep that said job.
-
I was invited to speak on the ‘Soft Skills and Hard Skills in Tech and all Else in Between’.
- Onboarding into a new team can be hellish and confusing and scary most times, for that reason I want to share a few things I do personally that can help you **become a valuable member** when joining a new team.

Product Design Management (PDM) is one of the most essential elements in the booming business of designing innovative products for production. Design teams often have design managers overseeing the end-to-end process from research to design and even implementation.
-
Unfortunately, most companies do not really understand the importance of PDM or how to properly implement it. There have been several misconceptions about a product design manager and what it's supposed to do in an organisation.
Tips on CV, Portfolio, LinkedIn, Networking, Positioning and general tips on how to scale your design career.

Mentored designers (and non-designers) for a total of 3,500+ Minutes. Helped them navigate growth, career paths, career changes, job hunting, and interpersonal issues at work by providing them with frameworks and 'on demand' 1:1 calls.
-
My long-term vision is to position mentorship as a column for social growth and eradicate “the mentor trap” which is based on dependence, can be a source of resentment, gives false power to mentors, and is based on short-sighted growth views.
