About Me:
Charlie De Pauw: A Passionate Visionary
As an interior designer and 3D visualizer, I bring a unique blend of passion for luxury brands, architecture, and automobiles to every project. My role at AFC-Collection has honed my ability to create visually stunning and functional spaces for high-end brands.
In 2021, I embarked on the restoration of an Austin Mini, diving into mechanics, leatherwork, and bodywork, which reinforced my belief in the power of dedication and continuous learning. This project was a testament to my commitment to excellence and craftsmanship.
Inspired by the elegance and sophistication of the James Bond lifestyle, I participate in car rallies and relish the thrill of restoring classic cars. I constantly seek new knowledge, whether through museum visits or self-directed learning. My appreciation for mid-century modern design and rare antiques with rich histories drives my creative endeavors.
I am a relentless worker, ambitious, and unafraid of challenges. Recently, I purchased an apartment that I am restoring with my own hands, a project that embodies my drive for personal growth and hands-on experience.
I thrive on ambitious projects and responsibilities, always aiming to emerge with new insights and skills. My love for real estate investments, particularly charming old brick houses, fuels my desire to learn and grow in this field.
A lover of Scottish landscapes and classic English cars, I cherish life's finer things and share my journey with my partner. I am always ready to tackle new challenges, make strategic investments, and continuously evolve both personally and professionally.
Projects
Total renovation for my apartment in the saint gilles area.
I'm planning to do some of the renovation myself, to get a feel for the plans behind the scenes.
A two-day concept design project for a high-profile family anniversary. Collaborating with Profirst, I developed presentation and sales support materials that captured the client’s vision, ensuring a refined and exclusive event experience.
-
Developed detailed technical plans and 3D visualizations for a high-end penthouse project, supporting both construction and sales efforts.
-
Designed interior layouts and created market-ready 2D/3D renders, enhancing the project's appeal to potential buyers.
-
Collaborated closely with the real estate developer to ensure deliverables were aligned with sales objectives and construction timelines.

This Brussels apartment project stands out as one of my favorites for its vibrant, chic style. Unlike the common minimalist trend of black and white interiors, this design embraces bold colors and character, creating a warm yet refined atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed bringing this vision to life, balancing elegance with a lively palette that feels both inviting and unique.
I had the task of adding value to a property for sale that was having trouble selling.
That's why I used 3d renderings to propose some kind of interior design to help customers plan their future.
This enabled the sale to go through much more quickly.
Rethink everyday objects through unexpected transformations.
"Rethink everyday objects through unexpected transformations! Discover bold new visions every week where ordinary items like toilet paper or toothbrushes come to life in surprising materials like concrete. Explore the fusion of creativity and 3D technology, pushing the boundaries of imagination."
It's a concept I've had that I'd like to apply to other materials such as wood. Due to lack of time and other reasons, I haven't been able to continue.
One of the 160 or so projects I've been able to contribute to at afc-collection.
Here's a project for a total renovation of a house located in a gant.

Led 3D modeling for Maison Oscar, a side project by AFC-Collection. Operated autonomously to meet tight deadlines.
The 3D visuals were essential for securing bank financing, media coverage, and pre-sale of rooms before construction was completed.
Also attended the official opening event to support the project launch
In 2021, I finally embarked on the ambitious journey of restoring my Austin Mini from the ground up. This project, deeply symbolic and close to my heart, was born out of my passion for automobiles. Despite having no prior knowledge of mechanics and lacking skills in manual work, I was determined to succeed.
This ongoing restoration project has been a profound learning experience, pushing me to master various skills including mechanics, leatherwork, bodywork, and painting. It has demanded significant time and sacrifices, but through sheer willpower and a commitment to excellence, I transformed a bare shell into something remarkable.
One standout piece from this project is a red leather interior, which is a testament to my newfound leatherworking skills. It beautifully blends history, design, and my love for automobiles, creating a perfect harmony.
This journey not only reflects my passion and dedication but also my ability to learn and excel in new fields when driven by a strong desire to achieve something meaningful.
“Pick up and dust” is a short, yet wide-ranging brief for a design project.
Wanting to try and create a tabletop crumb extractor, I was asked to create one without electricity.
A challenge I accepted, despite the difficulties.
In just a few months I was able to create a manual crumb extractor inspired by the old spinning top. A job that took only 3 months and involved an engineer and a woodturner.
Side Projects
A project in progress.
A long-term project with 3 major missions: classic cars, decoration and architecture to create a single homogenous whole.
A contemporary project using earth materials.
The end will be planned in the year
A project for a former anti-aircraft hangar that stored aircraft, refurbished for a collection.
The aim is to preserve its history by repainting it in green and, of course, with plants.
The lighting was a deliberate addition. There's nothing like natural light!
3D rendering of this magnificent Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 Mille Miglia.
Thanks to 3D technology this car will also be used for an architecture project entirely realised by me, playing between architecture, art & this magnificent car.
A project that I have to say took me longer than expected, but I'm happy with the result.
The start of a series that will focus on the mix between cars and architecture.
Side project create only by myself execute in 3DS max with Corona render.
It all starts with the interior design, which is reminiscent of the Giocometti and this Alfa Romeo, in a brutalist style but with curves.
It's a certain challenge to play with natural light and curves, while at the same time highlighting the common thread between art and cars.
A project that's finished in principle, but a theme that I intend to continue exploring!
Proposal for a concept to restructure the way parcels are delivered in Belgium.
Given that riverboats are becoming increasingly eco-friendly and traffic congestion on Belgian roads is escalating, why not leverage our rivers more for parcel delivery?
This is an end-of-study master's project at CAD school, which I was involved in from start to finish. My role mainly involved creating 3D visuals for presentations and marketing materials for this project.
Quick 3D project for a master's student in architecture and design for a proposal for a modular waiting room system.
Made in 3dsmax.
In charge of integrating VR for the sale of interior projects.
This involves reviewing the rendering processes and selecting the appropriate platform to transition from a 3D-created image to a VR experience, allowing clients to fully immerse themselves in their future interior.
In charge of managing the implementation of interior furniture in an application created by modulab.
A collaboration between Modulab and AFC-Collection in which I had to create the implementation of the 3D products of the interior furniture brands in an application based on gaming technology.
Two projects by two students for a rooftop at "THE HOTEL" in Brussels.
I received a 3D sketchup and had to work as hard as I could to create a rendering in a very limited amount of time to create a visual and plan views with 3dsmax and corona render.
Two very different projects.
I was tasked with creating renderings for the sale of several boat interior concepts.
This was used for marketing to customers, in presentations to the various trades for techniques and estimates.
Projects where I have a limited time frame and don't need to go into too much detail.
Since 2017, I have been actively involved in sourcing and reselling valuable items through platforms like auctions. Starting with watches, my expertise has expanded to include Fabergé pieces, art, sculptures, furniture, and James Bond memorabilia, as well as rare books. This experience has honed my skills in market research, market analysis, and sales. I have a knack for finding unique treasures and meeting specific requests for rare items.
