Brand Strategy + Design in Idaho

About

Hi! I'm a creative leader with over 20 years of experience in graphic design, branding, and illustration. I combine creativity with strategic thinking to help brands showcase who they are.

When I'm not working (or thinking about working), I'm probably hanging out with my wife and kids, watching movies, or playing soccer.

Work Experience

2019 — Now
Nampa, ID

Timber & Steel is a functional fitness and personal training gym that I started with my wife. My roles included CEO, COO, Head Coach, Creative Director, and designer. I completed all the market research and developed the brand from scratch. I developed brand standards and created designs for print, digital, and merchandise.

As the owner it was important to measure the effectiveness of our design and campaigns. If it didn't lead to more sales I made adjustments and tracked our metrics each month.

I also lead a small team to stay aligned with the mission and vision of the company but also to work together and to further their skills and careers.

2013 — 2018
Nampa, ID

I started at this company as a designer but moved up to Lead Graphic Designer. In this role, I was responsible for:

  • meeting with internal departments to plan their yearly design needs

  • working with the marketing team to develop fundraising campaigns

  • creating creative briefs for various projects

  • concept development

  • production design

  • brand development and design

  • web and digital design

2009 — 2013
Principle / Creative Director at 6foot4
Nampa, ID

6foot4 was a design studio of my own creation. I was the principal creative and did the majority of the strategy, concept development, and production design.

I focused primarily on branding and identity design. I love the process of finding the unique qualities of an organization and then communicating those qualities through a visual and written tone.
