Work Experience

2020 — 2023
Berlin, DE

I joined Shopify in 2020 to work on the Shop app. Shopify went 100% remote in 2020, so this was a fully remote role. Initially I was part of the Growth team, where I worked on experiments to improve acquisition and retention of users.

In early 2022 I joined the Reviews team at a time when the feature was just getting off the ground. Since then:

  • We shipped the first iteration of displaying product reviews in the Shop app

  • Gave merchants the ability to reply to reviews directly from their admin tool

  • I regularly contributed to Gravity, our design system, through cross-team collaborative efforts to maintain a high bar on quality and consistency in our user interfaces

  • I worked constantly with my managers to track my career path and progression using our own career- development frameworks

  • Together with our product manager, engineering lead, and data scientist, I was part of the Reviews “multifecta”, which met weekly to decide on team deliveries, objectives, and roadmaps

  • I performed multiple user research sessions with both buyers and merchants to guide us in our decision-making and prioritisation processes

  • I collaborated daily with engineers through pairing sessions, bug bashes, and shipped my own PRs to fix minor UI issues and polish the product

  • Had the opportunity to work directly on AI-focused projects using ChatGPT and MidJourney

2016 — 2019
Rio de Janeiro, BR

Carta helps companies and investors manage their cap tables, valuations, investments, and equity. In 2019 Carta raised $300M and was valued at $1.7B, making it a Silicon Valley unicorn.

  • I was part of a design team that collaborated directly with product and engineering to deliver a great experience to our users.

  • I was the first female designer and employee number 90. Today Carta is over 600 strong and growing

  • Spent a total of 5 months of working and living in Silicon Valley

  • In the early days, I was worked as a "Producer", a mix of product manager and designer, responsible for making product decisions and coordinating with engineering and business teams

  • I was part of the team executing the rebranding and transformation from eShares to Carta

  • Worked autonomously without a product manager for a year and had to assume the responsibilities of both product manager and designer

  • Was the sole designer of the Onboarding team for almost 2 years, and became one of the main sources of knowledge about onboarding users and its challenges

  • My team built a successful proof-of-concept and final implementation of the self-service onboarding tool, which is now one of the main features of the platform and generates tons of margin for the company

  • Organised Carta Cares by engaging and putting together volunteering events for the Rio office

  • My team won the first-ever Carta Hackathon

  • I presented projects in front of the entire company on multiple occasions and had to defend my point of view before the leadership and design team on a regular basis

  • Contributed to and worked within the company's design system
