Work Experience
Working on various client projects in graphic and digital product design. The scope of services offered has included, brand identity design, brand collateral design, website design, and digital product design. My recurring clients in this time have been Kirstin Childs, Do, Vue Robotics, and Building Restoration Services.
Swivu is a scheduling + planning software that Building Restoration Services is currently developing. My work included prototyping new features, developing and maintaining a scalable design system in Figma, and working to continuously streamline the design to code hand-off and implementation between design and development.
Worked as a Freelance Designer on multiple behavioral health products at Grit. The projects have focused on synthesizing existing user research and insights to generate solutions that generate more impact for their target users.
Contracted work for a local non-profit arts organization in Boulder, Colorado.
Education
Two day long workshop covering the basics of the Risograph Animation process. Workshop resulted in a custom animation made with printed Risograph images.
Completed a 10-week Principles of Typeface Design course offered by Cooper Type. My professor, Troy Leinster, taught us about the principles of constructing, sketching, spacing, and digitizing our own custom typefaces. The course consisted of workshop, one-on-one, and group-centered instruction.
Four week course taught by Ken Barber exploring the art and practice of lettering. The course covered the principles and process of lettering and was accompanied with various hands on demos and assignments.
Intro to Typography Course by Pratt Institute. The course covers how to design typography for optimal reading, communication hierarchy, and graphic impact. It also investigates type families and letter forms to understand terminology and analyze structure, style, and sensibility.
Completed an in-person continuing education summer course at the Rhode Island School of Design titled “Drawing I”. The course primarily focused on line and value to generate form through a series of observational drawing exercises and weekly critiques.
Completed an in-person continuing education summer course at the Rhode Island School of Design titled “Intro to Graphic Design”. The course was process-based and focused on teaching and applying the design process.
Writing
A piece I wrote on the importance of our products sounding more human. It's alienating when they don't.
A piece about our role as audience members in the creative process and how we can better support one another.
