Bookclub is a micro venture capital, investing in web3 projects specifically in the APAC ecosystem. One of the more important aspects for Bookclub was that each member had previously launched successful crypto products themselves. Simply put, they were a crypto-native vc, for crypto-native builders.
The name ‘Bookclub’ was chosen, to build upon the concept of mutually shared knowledge. Much like a real bookclub, Bookclub’s members contribute and bring back pieces of knowledge from the books they’ve read, to discuss, debate and make decisions going forward.
We helped nail down the brand’s core personality to: dependable, experienced, and energetic. Primary colours of black and white were chosen for dependability, but bold and bright secondary colours and micro-animations were used throughout the site. To further play on the idea of dependability, we explored the ideas of old-tech, especially to stand out in the sea of overused aesthetics that was so prevalent in the crypto space. We landed on ASCII art as the underlying theme, and chose Courier Prime as our body text.
