Writing own book and publishing it in a month

In 2021 after one month of travelling with my family, I decided to write and publish a printed book based on stories I was writing daily.

I was posting some of my stories on my Instagram, and I realised people love to read them.

As I already had experience making books I decided to publish another one. But with one critical difference: speed.

The goal was to make it fast.

It was the most crucial thing: I wanted to write, design, proofread and publish the book from draft to distribution in a month.

The second goal was to make it cheap. Self-publishing is risky. It requires funds to invest. Decreasing the costs of production is crucial in small projects.

My partner in this project is my loving wife. We wrote the book together. Then I designed it. Then I published and distributed it in the edition of 110 pieces plus a separate e-book.

It took a month. It is possible :).

This book shows my results of investigation minimising book production costs:

  • like black and white printing methods,

  • designing for economical purposes in paper formats use,

  • packaging optimization for distribution.

Unexpectedly for me, I received great reviews about the book. I am still not a writer, so I was surprised :).

I believe this book can be a source of inspiration. It shows there is love in this world. It shows how having kids could be a source of fun and fantastic inspiration.

E-book

After the successful launch, I had plans to scale this project and push its distribution to some e-distribution platforms, but I failed. I accepted this book as a side project.
