In May 2019 I was apart of the Teach Access Study Away Silicon Valley program. I had the opportunity to visit many technology companies that advocate for accessibility in their products including Google, Verizon Media, Facebook, Microsoft and Apple. Throughout the week, all student representatives were put in small cross-institutional teams to solve an accessibility challenge whilst gaining an understanding of how to implement a product to help improve the lives of the accessibility community. My team came up with the idea of a non-intrusive smart-home system designed to help those with memory impairments maintain their independence as well as have an easier system in place for caregivers to be able to easily care for their loved ones.

Helping Home is a feature within smart home systems for caregivers and people with short-term memory loss to provide a non-intrusive way to monitor the patient, improve their notion of independence and provide a cost effective way to take care of someone.

Teach Access

At Numerade I have been the sole Product Designer for 2 years with a team of 14 Engineers.

I have designed a forum flow for students to ask our educators questions, which is used by nearly 300,000 users a day. 

I have designed and ideated StudyParty, an app allowing students to join live study rooms to create a fun environment for learning. 

On the educator user flow, I have designed and evaluated a centralized dashboard for the educators with a logical information hierarchy, targeted to improve the user experience drastically.

Being a part of an EdTech startup, I am fortunate to design and collaborate with Engineers and PM’s on multiple products including the Numerade Student IOS and Android App, the Numerade Educator iPad App, Numerade ‘Ask’, and ‘Textbooks’.

Numerade

At IntersectLA I had many opportunities and projects to work on with a variety of students in different creative fields. Team work and collaboration was essential in strategizing each client's business goals. From these goals, we were able to develop a plan to achieve them by crafting strategies that are unique and viable.

My role was to Lead design decisions on projects for multiple clients and work on evaluative and generative research of conceptual features in order to align with the users’ needs.

The two main focuses at IntersectLA were creativity and marketing. Our team combined messaging and emotion to design brands and positive experiences and utilized traditional, internet, and social media platforms to support objectives through effective marketing tactics.
