Gatheround (acquired by Donut) is a new way to connect over video — a more engaging, interactive, and inclusive way to gather virtually. Led design to expand product offering to support workplace collaboration use cases:

  • Presentation activity enables automatic screen-sharing, custom Picture-in-Picture experience and Full Screen layout to support All Hands meetings.

  • Agenda Builder enables users to drag and drop pre-made activities from our library into their agendas.

  • Edit & Preview Activities

  • Google Calendar integration

  • Event Recaps 2.0

  • AI transcripts and event summaries

Led designs for activation and conversion initiatives to improve onboarding experience and drive self-serve revenue.

  • Join a Demo experience which resulted in highest self-serve activation and conversion rate. Learnings influenced the following features:

  • Onboarding hub checklist

  • Interactive tutorial event to teach the mechanics of the Playable Agenda

  • In-app navigation to streamline access to events, recaps, and resources with a sensible IA.

2020 — 2023
Remote / Brooklyn, NY

I joined Gatheround (originally Icebreaker) as the first full-time Product Designer. I led the design of and shipped several zero to one features across the product, helping the company raise a Series A:

  • Small Group Breakouts with conversation prompts and selfie view to connect team members

  • Group Share activity to automatically facilitate equitable and inclusive group discussions. Partnered closely with CEO and co-founders on interaction principles.

  • End-to-end experience for Pricing & Billing to introduce the self-serve model.

  • Event Room redesign to create a more sensible IA and update UI to new Gatheround brand.

  • Created first Design System in Figma. Implemented in collaboration with engineers and co-founder.

  • Event Creation redesign to update IA using progressive disclosure.

  • Onboarding experience to provide personalized agenda templates for new users. Helped bootstrap growth team.

In addition, I introduced processes for working cross-functionally including design critiques, sprint planning, growth experimentation, workshops, etc. Introduced process for and conducted several user research and usability studies. Designed and led direction for several marketing site pages to support acquisition efforts.

2017 — 2019

Led design for the Activation and Engagement Growth teams, helping Pinners understand both the value of Pinterest and how it works. Worked closely with IC Designers, Product Manager, Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, Data Scientists, and UX Researchers to develop roadmaps, prioritize projects, and launch and measure experiments.

  • Shipped Re-NUX experience to help users find new, relevant ideas and inspiration

  • Shipped Board Name Recommendations in the Save flow to reduce friction

  • Experimented with Home Feed Tabs to help Pinners easily discover and save ideas for their boards/use cases.

  • Co-led cross-functional workshop to explore end-to-end onboarding experience that teaches users to try ideas IRL. Workshop influenced experimentation roadmap.

Led design on core and emerging product efforts including community engagement features to help people discover and collaborate on ideas.

  • Shipped a community beta product within the Pinterest app

  • Led design workshop to create vision for a Multiplayer Pinterest.

Storehouse (acquired by Square) enabled people to create and share stories with photos, videos, and text. As the first designer at Storehouse, I worked closely with the design co-founders and iOS engineers to design and ship:

  • Storehouse’s 1.0 on iPad (2014 Apple Design Award Winner)

  • Storehouse’s 1.0 on iPhone (Best of Apps 2014)

I also designed brand and marketing materials across multiple mediums of print, web, and emails. Collaborated with co-founders and engineers on strategy for future releases and features. Collaborated with content and community directors on strategy for product launches and marketing campaigns.

Tectonic (acquired by Blink) is an experience design studio specializing in the sweet spot between product strategy, interaction design, visual branding and motion. Worked closely with principals on multiple projects developing a variety of user interface, interactions, and motion concepts for mobile, tablet and other devices.
