About
I'm a curious person. Curiosity is a great fuel for improvements and I love improving things.
Hi, I'm Bohdan, a Software Engineer.
Here are a few things about me:
-
I mostly specialise in Front End but worked as Full Stack for a while now
-
I thrive on polished interfaces, it's a sign of a mature product to me
-
Sharing is caring, so I share my knowledge by writing technical articles and running presentations for my team. Mentoring when possible
-
I love exploring tech, this is what led me to work on LED lamps and microcontrollers, DIYing devices and 3d printing
-
I can center a `<div />`
Side Projects
I'm continuously working on LED lamps.
Started with semi-custom solutions for ESP8266 controller and Apple Homekit support.
Now working on a bigger project where I learn about Bluetooth and Wifi communication, custom PCB and designing and developing custom mobile application.
Speaking
I gave a 2-hour intro into HTML for fresh students of a local programming courses school.
We had a great session with Q&A and additional homework for them.
One of my first presentations within the company, where I gave a brief on how to program microcontrollers.
My audience was my co-workers and this was a generic knowledge presentation.
Writing
My perspective on efficient data handling using GraphQL with Apollo.
Work Experience
I joined the Integration app with the goal of delivering a new way of integrating custom UI interfaces to SaaS products, which will be incorporated for their end users.
Testlio was the biggest product I worked on.
I was blessed with a great team and together we shipped hundreds of features.
One the second half of my journey there we started working on a brand new application for freelancers where I had the pleasure to lead its initial development and a chance to set all best practices. It was a great opportunity for me to learn new things and bring a new level of experience to users. An awesome chance to mentor my peers too.
The main project I worked on was Holberg EEG hiSCORE.
At the time this was quite a challenging and interesting project. We integrated with EEG scanner and built an application that lets doctors set correct diagnoses based on Holberg's internal PhD research.
One of the biggest projects I worked on was Capitalise.com.
With a team, we developed a complex UI that helped users raise investments for their businesses.
Later I switched to the development of mobile app using Ionic framework for React.
Volunteering
I and my friends gathered with the idea to build a project that would help volunteers in Ukraine collaborate on their supply chain. We developed a simple portal where you can interact with possible suppliers and run joint projects.
Education
I graduated with an approximate GPA of 4.6
My diploma thesis topic was "Dart to JavaScript" transpiler where I built tools that mapped code from Dart language into JavaScript using AST parsers and Babel AST generators.
Finished with an approximate GPA of 4.5.
My diploma thesis topic was about chat-bot integrations for smart homes and IoT projects. As the course was more about hardware than software I had several devices that emulated smart home setup.
