Associate UX Designer at Indeed
Singapore
  • Served as an Associate UX Designer with Indeed's Education and Reach Activation teams that focuses on helping people acquire skills needed to get jobs and improving job application volume respectively.

  • Was the core UX designer for the Education Marketplace sub team, collaborating with Product and Engineering to ship designs grounded in user research in a timely manner.

  • Led design of a revamped skills tab on Indeed's Career Explorer that empowers jobseekers to understand missing/matching qualifications from their profile. This improved user sign-ups by 54.4%, sign-ins by 26.4%, and job applications by 23.3%.

  • Led design to improve the Education Search product, namely support searching for an additional 43,000 skill-based courses, pre-filling the location of search queries and displaying endorsements for courses, all of which providing user value without negatively impacting metrics.

  • Provided design consultation to add additional details for each course such as description and curriculum on Education search product, increasing good session rate by 4.23% and reducing bounce rate by 1.54%.

Associate UX Designer Intern at Indeed

  • Spent the summer being a UX Design intern for the Education Discovery team that enables jobseekers to discover education to get better jobs.

  • Designed high fidelity mocks on Figma for multiple projects, incorporating feedback from stakeholders along the way to deliver a user centric solution.

  • Developed competitive analysis and usability test plans that inform product direction and features.

  • Led development of product features from research to design phases while collaborating with stakeholders from UX, PM and engineering.

2020 — 2021
UX Research Intern at Govtech MOM

  • Interned as a UX Research Intern at GovTech MOM’s WINS Design team.

  • Optimized processes and reorganized knowledge base for the WINS design team for better designer/researcher productivity.

  • Assisted in carrying out usability testing for the team, resulting in faster hand off to relevant designers.

  • Improved knowledge and confidence on the UX process as a whole and exposed myself to more granular areas of UX such as ResearchOps.

  • Increased onboarding rates for talent by implementing a revamped onboarding form built using React and React Hooks.
  • Implemented testing paradigm for our frontend code using Jest and Enzyme.
  • Implemented backend APIs to get talent status on the platform.

  • Interned at StaffAny under the Advanced Technology Attachment Programme (ATAP).
  • Tasked as feature lead for multiple features, working with a designer and engineers to develop them from back to front.
  • Led implementation of Special Tags, a robust tagging feature for flexible hour consolidation that could potentially be a powerful addition to StaffAny’s workforce management platform.
  • Exposed myself to TDD when developing backend APIs and new facets of front-end development such as RxJs.

UI/UX Design Intern at Chirpey

Collaborated in designing wireframes and mockups using Adobe XD and Figma, revamped aesthetic of the mobile app.

2021

Peerprep is a coding interview solution that allows students to concurrently collaborate on a coding problem. It was done for the module CS3219 Software Engineering Principles and Patterns. We leveraged the use of consistent design systems across both Figma designs and our NextJS app to streamline design and development.

  • Led my team through the design thinking process from research to design to explore what it means to preserve heritage in Singapore’s Kampong Bahru area for the module NM4210 advanced user experience design.
  • Carried out multiple user interviews across 2 different user groups and used qualitative analysis techniques to define problem statement
  • Ideated and designed solutions, iterating from storyboarding to high fidelity prototypes based on user feedback

  • As the sole designer/researcher, went through the entire design thinking process from research to design to explore the phenomenon of “doom scrolling”, the tendency to scroll through bad news even though that news is disheartening. Done for the module NM3221 mobile interaction design.
  • Carried out desk research, user interviews and analyzed qualitative data to define problem statement
  • Ideated and designed solutions, iterating through increasing levels of fidelity based on feedback from concept and usability tests

Giftwrap is an app development project done for NUS Orbital 2019. It aims to eliminate the guesswork that comes with buying gifts.
