Side Projects
In 2020 I started painting while searching for a new creative outlet that could bring me balance, opportunity for self-expression, and joy.
My mother has always dreamed of having her own cookbook and a few years ago we decided to make it happen. She developed and wrote more than one hundred recipes. I designed the book while my sister did the editing.
Volunteering
As a way to give back to the design community, I volunteer as a design mentor on career advice, design skills, and other topics.
Speaking
At the time I was recovering from burnout and I chose to share my experience, what I had learned, and everything I was doing to heal.
Sparkles is my loosely-formed philosophy of appreciation on the power our small pleasures have in creating a more fulfilling life. Those tiny but mighty experiences that we remember, seek, repeat, share, and enjoy the most. I talked about many of the perspectives, inspirations, and life experiences that led me to that philosophy and methods to bring it to life in our careers and crafts.
