Lex is a social app for discovering queer community. Through text-based posts, location based groups, and online or IRL events, Lex aims to be an online playground for all things queer.

As a growing startup with 120k monthly active users, Lex needed to turn its focus on user retention and growth.

As Lead Product Designer, I led product design through the product development life cycle, collaborating with both engineers and a small, but high performing design team that included myself. I worked directly with the CPO to craft the product roadmap and with the CTO to coordinate, plan and manage feature and technical debt sprints. I was also responsible for experimentation, feature development, information architecture, growth initiatives, brand design and more.

I launched over 20 new features for Lex. Impact highlights include:

  • 107% average month over month (MoM) monetization growth from 2023-2024, predicted to end year with 72% average MoM growth

  • 600% increase in users joining groups from 2023 to 2024

  • 75% increase in user posting from Q3 2023 to Q1 2024

  • Lex named as one of Fast Company’s 2024 Most Innovative Companies

Somewhere Good is an AI startup that helps people make friends and plan hangouts in their city. Using AI, audiences can text our number (Try it yourself! Text 917-810-3079) with a few of their interests, and our system generates a hangout for them to host in their neighborhood in seconds. Through our app and website audiences can also explore hangouts in their city on our app and connect to one another post-hangout through voice notes.

As Somewhere Good’s founding Product and Brand Designer, I established our product and brand design system and led the design launch across our pre-alpha, alpha, beta, and live release stages. As Lead Product and Brand Designer, I continue to iterate on the Somewhere Good product and brand system as the product iterates alongside Design, Engineering, Product, and Consumer teams.

Ethel’s Club is an immersive wellness platform that centers people of color. It began as a brick-and-mortar in Brooklyn, NY before expanding a year later into a digital platform for audiences across the U.S.

As the founding Creative Director, I established Ethel's Club's visual system across all product and brand touch points, including: branding, web, digital portal, print, social, packaging, and merchandise. I collaborated through the design process with Consumer, Marketing, and Engineering partners. We rooted the visual system in Ethel's Club's values of joy, community, and play.

I also led the design launch of various Ethel's Club digital products: Digital Platform, Online Store, and Membership Portal. Additionally I managed our two-person design team as well as several contractors.
