Designed a prototype of an EEG-based BCI to read theta and delta power from your frontal lobe to prevent suicide. This information would connect to an application that gives suggestions on reaching out to people and more. 1000+ participants, 55 countries, 53 teams
Back in December of 2023, my team and I decided to compete in the NeuroTech Global Hackathon.
Our group ended up being the youngest winners ever!
As a group of high school students, we won against 1,000+ engineers and neurotech experts from 55+ countries. We competed against collegiate-level engineers from Oxford, Emory, Vanderbilt, Berkeley, Columbia, Rice, and UPenn.
We presented Brainspace, an EEG-based BCI that detects suicide biomarkers and links to an app interface.
-
The BCI is a customer-grade headphone that analyzes delta and theta brain waves as the amount of these two brainwaves can correspond to increases in suicidal risk.
-
Once the data on the theta and delta brain waves are gathered they will be shown on a graph in our app interface and the app will assess mental health risk to provide a recommendation from the user and prevent suicide.
For winning in the tech category, we have been awarded a hardware prize, the SenzeBand 2 by Neeuro a BCI company based in Singapore! With the SenzeBand 2 device we are going to analyze theta and delta waves to turn our idea into a reality!
Thank you so much to NeuroTechX, Mohit Patil, and Firàs Safieddine for hosting

In my first year as a mentor, I guided my mentee to make >20 cat toys for cats in Austin Pets Alive and volunteer there.
In my second year, I helped the kids I was working with fundraise over $800 for the Austin Humane Society as I had volunteered there myself earlier that year.
